Stories From September Issue of AC Now Online

A selection of stories from the new issue of American Cinematographer, featuring the Disney fantasy Pete’s Dragon, are now online, including:


President’s Desk: Kees van Oostrum, ASC discusses the importance of the recent legal finding for cinematographer Jost Vacano, ASC regarding his key artistic contributions to the film Das Boot (1981).


Animator Dobrin Yanev works with Monkey and Beetle on the Hanzo’s Fortress set for animation studio Laika’s action-adventure Kubo and the Two Strings.

Kubo and the Two Strings: Cinematographer Frank Passingham and a team of artists bring director Travis Knight’s stop-motion adventure to life.


Tulip Fever: Cinematographer Eigil Bryld channels the Dutch Golden Age painters for the period drama.
