More than a dozen titles featured in the BAMcinematék screening series Indie 80s showcase the work of future or established ASC cinematographers. The program began July 17 and will run through Aug. 27 at BAM's Peter Joy Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave.

ASC members Frederick Elmes and the late James Glennon are represented by two films each: Blue Velvet and River's Edge for Elmes, and Smooth Talk and El Norte for Glennon.

The other ASC talents represented in upcoming titles are John Bailey (Swimming to Cambodia), Peter Stein (Wildrose), Walt Lloyd (sex, lies and videotape), Ernest Dickerson (She's Gotta Have It), Haskell Wexler (Matewan), Charlie Lieberman (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer), Jacek Laskus (Parting Glances), Barry Sonnenfeld (Blood Simple), Ed Lachman (Say Amen, Somebody, a shared credit with Dan Lenzer) and Stefan Czapsky (The Thin Blue Line, a shared credit with Robert Chappell).

Screened earlier in the series were Hollywood Shuffle, shot by Peter Deming, ASC, and Sidewalk Stories, shot by Bill Dill, ASC.

Tickets are $14 general admission; $10 for students, seniors and veterans; and $7 for members.
