Vitec Acquires Savage Universal
Savage Universal has provided backgrounds for professional studio photographers for more than 80 years.
Vitec Imaging Solutions, a division of The Vitec Group, has acquired Savage Universal Corp. and its affiliates.
Savage, based in Phoenix, Ariz., has been providing backgrounds for the professional studio photographic market for more than 80 years.
In the Covid-19 era, professional studio photography has expanded exponentially, led by the growth of e-commerce sales. Ninety percent of online buyers report that the quality of product images is the most important factor in their decision-making process. Savage serves this market segment, as well as vloggers and influencers who use backgrounds for TikTok or YouTube videos.
“Savage backgrounds complement Vitec’s existing portfolio of accessories for professional image creators,” says Marco Pezzano, divisional CEO of Vitec Imaging Solutions.
