Western Digital Corporation has introduced a pair of solutions to their lines of high-power G-Technology G-Speed Shuttle products. The G-Technology G-Speed Shuttle family will currently support up to 96TB of storage.

“With the power of Thunderbolt 3, the flexibility to integrate with our ev Series, and a design optimized for mobility, the G-Speed Shuttle is the perfect solution for any on-the-go project team," says Scott Vouri, vice president strategy and business development, G-Technology, Western Digital, in the press release.

Offering fast transfers and large capacities to meet the demands of professional content creators and streaming video on demand (SVoD) services, the first model, the 4-bay G-Speed Shuttle, will integrate with Thunderbolt 3 environments for transfer times of up to 1,000 MB/s. Available at $3,799 for 48TB, $2,799 for 32TB, $2,299 for 24TB, and $1,799 for 16TB, the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 can handle multiple streams of 4K and above.

Housing several hardware RAID array possibilities, including 0, 1, 5, and 10, the 4-bay, hot-swappable design comes with HGST-branded Ultrastar 7200RPM enterprise-class drives. Designed for secure transport of drives and content, a custom Pelican case sized to fit most overhead bins is available separately. Drives are pre-formatted for Macs, and they are also compatible with Windows through G-Technology’s Windows Format Wizard.

For fans of G-Technology’s ev Series of Bay Adapters and drives, the second model, the G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters, adds cross-functionality with all G-Technology ev Series drives. With the same RAID configurations and features as the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3, the G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters will provide transfer times of up to 500MB/s as well as direct offload from multiple memory cards when using a G-Technology ev series adapter.

At $2,299 and $1,999 respectively, the G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters come in 24TB or 20TB capacities.
