Sony Electronics has announced two new APS-C E-Mount zoom lenses, the E 16-55mm F2.8 G standard zoom and the E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS super-telephoto zoom. This brings the company’s E-mount lineup to a total of 54 lenses.

“Sony’s ‘One Mount’ solution for both APS-C and full-frame cameras provides creators with a unified system for all of their photography and video needs,” says Neal Manowitz, deputy president of Imaging Products and Solutions at Sony Electronics. “With 54 different lenses and a growing range of camera bodies, I believe E-mount offers more versatility than any other mirrorless system. We will continue to drive innovation in all aspects of imaging, empowering all creators to capture and create like they’ve never been able to before.”

Both new lenses feature excellent corner-to-corner image quality throughout the zoom range, XD Linear Motor technology, and a compact, lightweight design that is dust and moisture resistant.

Weighing 15.88 ounces, the 16-55mm standard zoom is ideal for capturing landscapes, portraits and everyday snapshots. The lens will be available in October and will list for $1,400.

Weighing 20.09 ounces, the 70-350mm super-telephoto zoom is ideal for landscape and wildlife photographers. The lens will be available in November and will list for $1,000.

Both lenses will be available at Sony dealers throughout North America.
