Sigma Developing 65mm Primes

The 65mm T1.5 FF cine prime and the 65mm T2.5 Classic cine prime will give the company a total of 11 prime lenses in each series.

The 65mm T1.5 FF cine prime and the 65mm T2.5 Classic cine prime will give the company a total of 11 prime lenses in each series.

Sigma Corp. of America has announced it is developing two 65mm prime lenses: the 65mm T1.5 FF cine prime and the 65mm T2.5 FF Classic cine prime.


Additionally, effective with the release of the 65mm Classic prime, lenses in that line will be available for purchase individually. Currently, Classic primes are offered exclusively as a 10-lens kit.


The 65mm T1.5 prime will be available for Canon EF, Sony E and PL/i mounts. The 65mm T2.5 Classic prime will be available for PL/i mount only.


The release of the two new lenses will give Sigma a total of 11 prime lenses ranging from 14mm to 135mm in each lens line. 


Pricing and availability of the new lenses will be announced at a later date, as will pricing and availability of all individual Classic primes.
