Set for release Feb. 25, it is the widest I-series lens to date and offers an exceptionally small form factor.

Sigma Corp. of America has announced the Sigma 20mm F2 DG DN Contemporary lens, which will be available Feb. 25 at authorized U.S. Sigma dealers.

Available in L-mount and Sony E-mount, the 20mm is the widest I-series lens to date. It is equipped with a metal, knurled, petal-type lens hood and is compatible with 62mm threaded front filters. Like other F2 I-series lenses, it features an arc-type AF/MF switch and stylized barrel design near the “Made in Japan” marking.

Weighing 13.1 ounces and measuring 2.85" long, the lens is portable enough for everyday shooting. Its F2 maximum aperture and overall optical performance make it ideal for astrophotography, along with landscapes, cityscapes, street photography, low-light interiors and other nighttime situations.

The Sigma 20mm F2 DG DN Contemporary will list for $699.
