DRS Nova is a suite of image-restoration tools that address everything from common dust and dirt to severe tears and warps.

MTI Film has released DRS Nova v4.2, the latest iteration of its image-restoration application that fixes everything from common dust and dirt to catastrophic tears and warps.

New features include an improved Color Bump algorithm in DRS Tool; constraints to Zonal mode in the DeFlicker Tool, allowing the user to set either head-and-tail anchor frames or a single reference frame to which other frames are matched; in Grain Tool, a channel mask for grain creation so different grain can be added to individual R, G and B channels; and two new capabilities for Project Manager: Relink Media Folder and Strip Alpha Channel.

Improvements include faster creation of PDLs in Zonal mode; enhancements to the Paint Tool; the ability to strip the alpha channel from RGBA media, making them 25-percent smaller RGB files; a dynamically changing timecode display, and the ability to handle UNC filenames in Project Manager.
