Epic Games has also partnered with Roe Visual to enhance its London Innovation Lab with a complete virtual-production LED demo stage.

LMG has expanded its Las Vegas Studio with the LMG Colossal Cube, an LED stage featuring 24'-tall Roe Visual Carbon Series CB3 3mm LED walls and a 50' wide x 32' deep Roe Visual Black Marble BM4 4mm Matte Finish LED floor.

“The Colossal Cube is the latest example of LMG’s mission to go beyond technology by providing innovative, trusted solutions through our unparalleled approach to quality, service and support,” says LMG President and CEO Les Goldberg. “Virtual meetings and entertainment are here to stay, even as live events come back. We are ready to bring our clients’ virtual concepts to life in a big way on the largest LED stage in North America.”

Powered by Brompton processing, Stype camera tracking, Unreal Engine and Disguise Rx and Vx4 servers, the Colossal Cube provides a turnkey extended-reality solution. With a dedicated lighting, audio and video master control room, the studio offers full XR capability as well as non-XR packages. The Roe Visual Black Marble LED floor panels can easily support the weight of a car, making the studio ideal for a variety of shoots.

The facility includes amenities for both corporate and entertainment clients, including three production offices, an artist suite, artist dressing rooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a breakroom, 24-hour access, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

Roe Visual LED products are also featured in Epic Games’ refurbished London Innovation Lab, which includes a complete virtual-production LED demo stage.

“Roe had already proven itself on the very cutting edge of high-end LED virtual production in the first commercial uses of in-camera VFX,” says Ben Kidd, technical artist and project lead for Epic’s LED stage. “It was important for us at Epic to give customers and our own teams a chance to get hands-on with this pioneering tech in the heart of London. We now have the availability to test new features on our demo stage with equipment that can be representative of a much larger stage.”

The LED virtual-production stage features Roe Visual Black Pearl BP2 LED walls and a Roe Visual Carbon Series CB3 ceiling.

“Collaborating with Epic as a tech partner is a fantastic opportunity,” says David Morris of Roe Visual. “Not only can we use the space to introduce clients to the technique of virtual production, but we can also share our knowledge and experiences. Intensive testing and experimenting are very important to bring VP techniques forward.”
