Koto Electric Arrives in Hollywood

The lights and power company establishes in Los Angeles with customizable electric and lighting solutions for stage, set and screen.

In addition to a global presence and sales staff of more than 500 employees throughout more than 20 countries, Koto Electric Company Ltd has expanded operations with a new warehouse and storefront in Los Angeles.

Located at 7401 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Unit #29, in North Hollywood, the company, which supplies lamps as well as complex lighting systems with power solutions, promises an extensive inventory and same-day delivery when possible.

“We are looking forward to being closer to our customer base and our poartners in this new chapter for Koto Electric Co., Ltd,” says Shinji Harada, Senior Vice President, in a press release. “We are very positive that we can make an improvement on the industry being in the epicenter of the Stage, Studio and TV high technology lighting industry.”

Based in Taito-Ku, Tokyo, Koto also provides advanced glass, resin and metal plating technologies, UV surface treatments, optical bonding and hermetic sealings for equipment such as lights, optical sensors, PCs, cellphones and components.

For specialized filmmaking and other production needs, Koto has offered high-performance lamps for the film, broadcast, theatrical, marine, aviation, commercial, industrial and retail markets since 1947. 

To reduce costs while increasing a presence in China, the company opened a manufacturing and sales facility in Tangshan City in 2005, and have two affiliate factories in Korea.
