The camera-rental platform will also introduce a rewards program and a DIY multi-item search tool.
Online camera-rental platform KitSplit has introduced KitSplit Plus, a new program designed to streamline large rental needs.
With KitSplit Plus, users can send KitSplit their list of gear, and a dedicated rental agent will help them find everything for the shoot. The KitSplit community includes thousands of five-star vendors, including rental houses and owner-operators, and its rental agents strive to locate the best option at the best rate with the fewest pickup places.
“We consistently heard from our users that they wanted an easier way to rent gear for large productions,” says Lisbeth Kaufman, CEO of KitSplit. “We’re thrilled about the power of this new tool to facilitate that.”
KitSplit Plus users submit their gear lists via KitSplit.com or by email or telephone, and then the KitSplit rental agent will send a quote, usually within hours. Users can then check out, pay and obtain insurance in just a few clicks.
“KitSplit has fantastic customer service; I was able to make last minute requests effortlessly, and, most important, the quality of the gear was excellent,” says New York-based producer Bob Johnson.
KitSplit has a low-price guarantee but also recognizes that pricing is not always the foremost concern. “We work closely with the producer to learn about the rental needs and craft a quote based on what’s most important,” says Daniel Gurzi, KitSplit’s head of business development. “We only source from reliable, trusted vendors and work with producers to find the right balance of convenience and cost for each rental.”
KitSplit is also launching KitSplit Rewards, which gives renters 1 percent back in rental credits with each rental or 2 percent back for rentals over $2,000. Rental credits are redeemable for future rentals on the site.
The company also plans to introduce a DIY multi-item search tool in April.
