The 24" color-accurate display offers a feature set suited to production, editorial and broadcast environments.
Flanders Scientific, Inc., has released the BM241, a 24" color-accurate professional display with a feature set suited to production, editorial and broadcast environments.
A larger-format version of FSI’s BM211 monitor, the BM241 is equipped with live side-by-side viewing for two signals, look LUT support, dual-link SDI compatibility, FSI’s advanced Video Data Analyzer and HDR Preview modes, among other features. The BM241 can easily be paired with the BM211 for multiple-monitor environments.
Equipped with a newly designed backlight that offers expanded color-gamut capabilities, improved contrast and better perceptual matching between FSI’s entry-level displays and its DM- and XM-series monitors, the BM241 represents a new price point for productions or facilities seeking to mix in more affordable monitoring while preserving visual consistency with their hero monitors.
FSI’s second-generation Color Fidelity and LUT Interpolation Engine houses multiple 4,913-point calibration and DIT (look) LUTs for highly accurate color reproduction and effective look management. Users can instantly select from among Rec709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI P3, Rec2020 Emulation (does not fully cover Rec2020), Native Wide Gamut and Custom User Generated color spaces. Gamma, peak-luminance and color-temperature toggles add to the versatility of this monitor.
All CFE2-equipped monitors feature a user-friendly menu toggle to instantly switch between data (full) range-monitoring or video (legal) range-monitoring modes.
FSI monitors come pre-calibrated from the factory, and free recalibration is always available for customers who can send their units to an FSI service department. Users can quickly and easily perform their own 3D-LUT-based calibration with advanced color-management solutions such as LightIllusion LightSpace CMS or SpectraCal CalMan.
The FSI BM241 lists for $3,095 and can be ordered on the company’s website.
