The company formerly known as Outsight has rebranded as Creamsource, the name of its popular LED line.

Creamsource, the Australian lighting-technology company formerly known as Outsight, is conducting public demonstrations of its latest fixture, the Creamsource SpaceX, at NAB this week.

SpaceX features six LED engines, with 1,200 watts of LED power that equal the output of a 5K tungsten spacelight. With an optional optic set, SpaceX’s output is boosted to nearly double intensity while delivering a wide, even beam.

SpaceX offers superb color rendition, with a typical CRI of 95 from 3200K to 6500K, and full color-temperature adjustment from 2,200K to 15,000K with one full stop of green/magenta control. Its compact, lightweight and ergonomic form factor includes an integrated power supply, an efficient and quietactive coolingsystem, and a Lumen Radio receiver as standard. The SpaceX features the same rugged build quality users have come to expect from all Creamsource products and is equally at home as a spacelight or mounted on a stand. A range of accessories is also available.

“SpaceX is the next step forward for our high-end LED studio-lighting range, offering exceptional power and controllable color in a lighter, nimbler unit,” says Creamsource CEO Tama Berkeljon. “The unprecedented value SpaceX offers is extremely exciting for productions where volume lighting is required. It offers an incredible $5.41 per watt vs. a market average of $12.03 per watt. We can’t wait to show off what it can do at NAB.”

Regarding the company’s recent name change, Berkeljon notes, “Our Creamsource LED range is recognized and trusted by gaffers and lighting technicians around the world.  As we continue to grow and evolve, it makes sense for us to take the popular Creamsource name forward as our brand identity.”

At NAB, Creamsource is also demonstrating the Micro Colour unit, whose LED engine has been specially crafted to provide exceptional white-light color quality, with typical CRI and TLCI values above 95; it also has green/magenta adjustment and can produce vivid, saturated colors. The Micro Colour features fan-free cooling for silent operation and is water resistant (IP65 rated). The light is small, lightweight and starts at $1,295.

Creamsource has also announced it is increasing its product warranties from two years to five years across the entire product range.
