The company’s Canadian launch will be followed by another facility in Toronto this fall.

Cinelease, Inc., has opened a lighting-and-grip rental house in Vancouver, marking the company’s debut in Canada. It will also open a facility in Toronto this fall.

“We’re excited to finally bring our services, industry heritage and unrivaled customer service to Vancouver’s thriving filmmaking community,” says Chris Rogers, vice president of marketing for Cinelease.

“Filmmakers have been asking for this for some time,” adds Jeff O’Brien, branch manager of Cinelease Vancouver.

The new location — 3195 Production Way, Burnaby, BC — was chosen for its proximity to studios, stages and filming locations, with easy access to highways.

Until now, Cinelease has relied on shipping to support productions in Canada, but with this new facility, it can offer a stable supply and a consistent flow of new equipment that was previously unavailable. In addition to its inventory, Cinelease is the exclusive provider of Canada-based LRX lighting products.
