Band Pro Stocking Angénieux Optimo Primes IOP
The new lens design enables cinematographers to craft looks by combining internal-filter, iris-cartridge and rear-filter options.
Band Pro Film & Digital, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Angénieux lenses in the Americas, is now offering Angénieux Optimo Primes Integrated Optical Palette (IOP).
This new lens design allows cinematographers to craft their own unique looks by combining IOP options the way a painter adds hues to a brush. Optimo Primes IOP are comprised of Internal Filters, Iris Cartridges and Rear Filter options. Due to their position inside the lens, IOP Internal Filters facilitate looks not possible with front or rear filtration alone. And this process is easily reversible — the lens can be returned to its original configuration within minutes.
Stage 1 IOP options for Internal Filters are: Clear (Coated & Uncoated), Glimmer Glass, Black Satin, Black Pro-Mist, Low Contrast, Hollywood Black Magic and Blue Streak.
Options for Iris Cartridge are 3-Blade and Oval (coming soon).
Rear Filter options will include key looks from Tiffen and Schneider Optics.
Customized looks are available upon request.
“I recently shot Angenieux Optimo Primes with IOP on Daisy Jones & The Six for Amazon,” says Checco Varese, ASC. “We were trying to achieve a specific look that was pristine and would envelop the characters. We decided to use a Tiffen 1/8 Glimmer Glass internal IOP, and it was like seeing the light through a glass of champagne. For some scenes, we added netting in the back of the lens in lieu of rear filtration; this created a timeless glow in the highlights that was unique.”
