The custom-designed building includes a 64-seat screening room and a dressed shooting set for tests and workshops.
Arri has moved its West Coast facilities — Arri Inc. and Arri Rental U.S. — to new digs in Burbank, Calif. The custom-designed-building, located at 3700 Vanowen St., opened March 4.
“The move to a new home is all about serving the creative community further,” says Glenn Kennel, president and CEO of Arri Inc. “Our custom-designed building allows us to engage with that community in new ways and showcase our industry-leading products and services. Having everything under one roof gives content creators and customers the best experience possible.”
Located opposite the Burbank Airport-South Train Station (served by Metrolink and Amtrak), the new facility offers loading zones, a large parking lot, offices, meeting rooms, communal areas, testing rooms, a 64-seat screening room and demo areas.
Two key areas are Creative Space, a dressed shooting set for tests and workshops that features state-of-the-art equipment, and the screening room, which features a 4K Christie DLP digital projector with 7.1 surround sound. These resources are expected to facilitate master classes with the ASC, Arri Academy workshops, creative salons and Arri Cinema Club screenings, among other events.
The service department is expanding the range of repairs and alterations to camera equipment it can offer on site. A clean room allows for sensor cleaning and filter assembly, while a new imaging lab provides a controlled environment for HDR evaluations and R&D.
In the lobby of the building, a tech table allows customers to handle the latest Arri tools, such as the Stellar app, Pro Camera Accessories and Electronic Control System products. Visitors can browse a range of Arri merchandise in the nearby gift shop.
“Arri Rental offers exceptional value to our customers with leading technology, including the Alexa 65 and our exclusive selection of lens offerings,” says Arri Rental President Peter Crithary. “With the highest quality service and support, this new facility allows us to raise the bar even further.”
